Oh! Really!

You know ... my young son entered in the Children's day Rapid Chess tourney. Well ... I thot for a child who's 8 and have not been in many such events ... he did pretty well!

Won 3 out of 7 matches. :)
Well a couple of the 3 that he won were against bigger boys than himself. So ... I'm really proud of the little tyke!

Stress!!!!! The elder brother faces a daunting week ahead. This is the PSLE! All that he has been to school over the last 6 years has come donw to this ... either u made it or you don't. Well that is overstating it a bit, but then ... ask any Singaporean child what he thinks of the PSLE ... most likely u'll get a blank look. But ask any parent ... u'd be glad the parent doesn't fall flat with a cardiac arrest ;-)

Aah! The final paper OVER!!!! Free as a brid at last! Guess ... we'll have to wait till the 24 Nov for the results. *bite nails* Well ... I'm proud of him for pulling through the exams. He is in high spirits that he had done better that his Prelims. :)

Date 16-19 Oct 2006
PSLE marking days. So ... school's out for these 4 days. Little bro doesn't have the motivation to study for his exams :( Big Bro seem to be having too much fun and ... sigh ... demotivates the younger. Well ... mum's pulling her hair out to get them both to toe the line.

Me? Well ... works been busy. Loads of visitiors to the Singappore office. So ... the usual SG hospitality applies ...

Mon:
Tea at 10am - sandwitches/cream puffs! Slurp!
Lunch 12:30pm - Muthu's Curry! Waah! Shiok ah! However, I thot the Curry Fish Head was not as good as the Fish Head I get at the Indian stall at the Marina Sq Food Court.
Teabreak - cancelled (thank goodness, I can't squeeze another crumb in my stomache)
Dinner 7.30pm - Head off to Makan Sutra at the Esplanade.
Chilli Sting-ray (revenge for Steve Irvin - die all you sting rays ... DIE!)
Satay - Chicken, Mutton, Beef!
Fried Hokkien Mee - urmmm!
BBQ Chix Wing - yummy!
Chai Tau Kway - Die die must try! (Thks to KF Seetoh for reminding me of this phrase!)
Char Kway Teow - Wah lau eh, si beh ho!
Then it is off to Geylang for Durians! - unfortunately the season's over - all the good durians (M'sian ones) not available. However, since we had some guest, he managed to get 2 huge ones from Thailand. Not as good, but I guess it'll do for the visitors. :(
Well ... as a footnote for this event ... there were tons of streetwalkers near the store (after all it was Geylang!) fat and ugly ones ... urrrg!

Wed:
Tea at 10am - Same sandwitches
Lunch at Pearl River - Wow! I've always loved the Tim-sum here!
Diner 8pm - Jumbo Seafood @ East Coast - Yes! Chilli crab & Black pepper crabs! Stomach bursting at the seams ;-)

Thurs:
Tea at 10 again - same ol sandwitches
Lunch - Rangoon Rd Bak Kut Teh - Famous for closing at 2pm regardless of who was visiting. Aparently they closed out on the CIO of HK! Well ... here we are! (Frankly, it didn't meet my expectations for BKT soup)
Dinner was a break for me ... head home early ... first time this week.

Fri:
Tea at 10 - oh no! not sandwitches again!!!!
Lunch - The lurrrvly Renn Thai! Great food ... but can't say the same for the service.

n e ways ... the visitors leave tonight. All goodbyes said and teardrops fell! Au revoir mes amis!

Sat:
Ooh! BBQ at Simei! - You know ... I'm kinda worried about weighing myself this week. :)
